The Fish Chose Me is a reminder that not everything in life happens because we planned it. Sometimes the best moments, the biggest shifts and the stories that stay with us are the ones that quietly find us.

This painting was created by trusting instinct more than intention. Working with my hands instead of relying solely on brushes allowed me to let go of control and respond to what was happening on the canvas in the moment. Like the title suggests, I stopped chasing the outcome and let the painting choose its own direction.

For me, the fish has always represented more than just a fish. It's curiosity, connection and a little bit of humour... a recurring companion that continues to find its way into my work. Perhaps that's because, in the end, it wasn't me who chose the fish... the fish chose me.
